Thermal fuse
Tripped thermal fuse is the second most common malfunction we respond to
It is a completely trivial fault, which is not actually a fault at all.
The thermal fuse protects the crusher's motor in case of overload or overheating.
Usually, it is enough to lightly push the safety switch back and the garbage disposer is functional again. If it pops out again, the problem may be in a jammed garbage disposer, see previous article.
In most cases, we manage to convince the customer to reset the breaker "over the phone", they just need a little guidance. During the installation and handover of the shredder to customers, I explain where the breaker is located, however, understandably, everyone forgets it after a few years.
After pushing the safety switch and activating the shredder, usually there is great joy and jubilation on the other end of the line. Let's face it, once you get used to the shredder, you can't live without it.
The biggest issue is usually persuading the customer to let themselves be guided and find the safety switch on the grinder. Sometimes people are in a hurry and demand immediate arrival of a technician. However, if the technician arrives and only resets the safety switch, we are obliged to charge the customer both travel expenses and the started hour of work. For example, in the case of Prague, this amounts to 1120 CZK excluding VAT.
So please have patience during the call, we are trying to save our time and your money.
